James Tomkins
Think he deserves his own thread.

Probably for me our most consistent performer this season. Obviously plaudits are being thrown about for the usual suspects, right ly so, but Tomkins has barely put a foot wrong. Was superb at right back, and has been even better at centre half.

Woy as at the game yesterday, if he don't get in the next England squad, ahead if that fucking bag of nails Jagielka, it is a travesty.

Re: James Tomkins
Said it for a while now. Should be in the England squad and is as good as Reid and stays fit.
Very underated player.

Re: James Tomkins
Well I remember seeing Tomka the first time in a pre-season 1st team game at Gillingham when he was 15 or 16. I was so impressed that I thought we had another Rio or dare I say it, Moore, coming through.

He's a bit like Noble for me. Good at what he does without being really commanding and stylish like Rio and Moore were. Not knocking him. Just that he hasn't reached England levels for me.

Re: James Tomkins
I think being in that GB squad for 2012 didn't help him, failed to impress and maybe that is a reason he gets overlooked. He's come on a lot since then and deserves a go in the England squad, he plays for a top 4 team now too...

Name me an English centre half playing better than him?

Actually, name a centre half playing better than him?

Re: James Tomkins
Woy was there yesterday so obviously still none of our players will be good enough for the next squad.

Shaw would still be picked ahead of Creswell and he's out with a broken leg!

They both dealt with Costa admirably yesterday.

Re: James Tomkins
No way the English players ahead of him in the England squad have matched his consistant level of performaces.
They are only above him on reputation or the clubs they play for.
Hodgson is a cunt and England are going nowhere.

I can't jibbers because I rarely watch other teams.

I really like Tomkins as a player but he has just not reached his full potential imo. He could so easily have been as good as Rio although even he had his adventursome nature knocked out of him by Fergie

And Tomka has a big weakness that cannot be ignored. He turns like an oil tanker at full steam...

Kieron Gibbs keeping Cresswell out of England squad and he hasn't started a PL game this season

Re: James Tomkins
Solid, keeps getting better.
Bilic is creating confidence and some of the players who are lets say decent ish are actually proving that they can be much better the whole team together are wonderful .
Great times , the players are even when playing defensively getting three times more chances to score and are not under a constant barage of attack as they were under BS.

Mentioned this before but looks like he could have stepped out of a 19th century FA Cup Final Old Carthusians versus Royal Engineers.

Re: James Tomkins
Very under rated. Would be a regular england squad player if he was on the bench at arsenal, yids, Man Utd...

However, England can fck right off. Don't want any of our squad going as Roy is Fckg useless.

Re: James Tomkins
Was staggered to see Hodgson there. It's a given that based on yesterday's game, Loftus-Cheek will be in the next England squad.

Re: James Tomkins
Willtell I went to that game aswell it was Andy Hessenthaler's testimonial, now it was only a friendly but Tomkins looked like he had been playing for years and you could tell even then he was going to make it. Been consistently good for us and another academy gem. Fuck England, if woy has been told to overlook players who are in the form then this country has no fucking chance in France come June and we might aswell not even bother going.
